Dear Reader,
Welcome everyone to our February 2022 newsletter, and thank you for taking time out of your busy day to join us in ‘Rocking Sobriety.’ We have many great articles and information to share for everyone to learn, grow, and help all of us continue to stay sober through these cold months. In this edition, we will be taking a deep dive into what does Intergroup do? We look into their responsibilities, how they function and serve, and finally, we talk about what A.A. does not do.
Next, we have a series of resources that focus on Al-Anon finding support. Since 1951, Al‑Anon Family Groups has published more than 100 books and pamphlets that share Al-Anon’s single purpose: to help family and friends recover from the effects of someone else’s drinking. This literature shares their insights and experiences with each other.
Also, we will look at Part 2 of the series “Precisely How We Have Recovered.” In this video, the author covers “Step 4: Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves” and “Step 5: Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.”
Just a reminder for everyone, the “Relationships In Sobriety” multi-district workshop is on Saturday, February 12, from 2 PM to 4 PM at the First Wayne St Methodist Church.
Finally, as many of you know, the April 2022 A.A. Convention is canceled due to Covid complications. Although the Steering Committee and Fort Wayne Intergroup are working with local home groups to explore various options, please click here to get the latest updates.
As always, be safe, stay sober, and we’ll see you next month.
Ryan M.
What Does an Intergroup (Central Office) Do?
An intergroup or central office is a vital A.A. service office that represents a partnership among groups in a community — just as A.A. groups themselves are a partnership of individuals. These offices are established to carry out common functions that a centralized office best handles, and it is usually maintained, supervised, and supported by these groups for their common interest. The office exists to aid the groups in carrying the A.A. message to the alcoholic who still suffers.

Since its founding in 1951, Al‑Anon Family Groups published more than 100 books and pamphlets that share Al-Anon’s single purpose: to help family and friends recover from the effects of someone else’s drinking. This literature supplements the face-to-face meetings where Al‑Anon members share their insights and experiences with each other.
Al-Anon literature develops entirely from the writings of Al-Anon members throughout the world. Al-Anon literature is usually available at Al-Anon meetings. Some cities, states, and provinces have their own Al-Anon literature distribution centers, where a larger variety of literature is available for purchase.
Literature is also available for purchase on Al-Anon’s online store. Click here to browse or purchase items.

Below are some great quotes and sayings that are found in #HeardinaMeeting…
I learned to listen and listened to learn
We(I)had to stop playing God
Let go and Let God
You don’t have to control your thoughts. You just have to stop letting them control you
When it gets ugly, bring your sponsor in
The real peace and relief comes from being relieved of my shortcomings
I don’t have any future until I clean up my past
You can’t stay clean living dirty
God, take my will and my life, guide me in my recovery, show me how to live
